2018 MTGA Summer Conference

Welcome to the Minnesota Turkey Growers Association 2018 Summer Conference! 
Chase on the Lake Resort - Walker, MN 

The Summer Conference is open to all MTGA members, former/retired MTGA members (our "Golden Gobblers"), and all turkey farmers who pay checkoff, as well as those who are interested in joining MTGA - along with family members.  We also welcome Iowa Turkey Federation members - please join us!

The Summer Conference is a fantastic opportunity to network and connect with other members.  In fact, the chance to meet and talk with old and new friends is the #1 reason our members enjoy attending the Summer Conference.  Plus, families are welcome and encouraged to attend, so bring your spouse/significant other and your kids and make it a mini-getaway to the beautiful Leech Lake area!





OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES

Lake Itasca Boat Cruise (first 50 registrants)

Take a cruise with us aboard the "Chester Charles II" on Lake Itasca. See Lake Itasca the way Henry Rowe Schoolcraft did when he discovered the source of the Mississippi River on July 13, 1832.  We'll make a detour for lunch along the way at the Iron Horse Bar & Grill in Nevis, MN (Thursday, June 21, 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm).


 

Trap/Skeet Shooting

The trap/skeet shooting event will be held at Northstar Sportsmen’s Club, 10215 Rifle Range Drive NW, PO Box 21, Walker, MN 56484.  Fee includes three rounds of trap/skeet shooting, shells, lunch and prizes. (The club does not have guns available to rent so you’ll need to bring your own.) Transportation will be on your own (address/map will be provided). Lunch will be provided onsite at the gun club (Thursday, June 21, 12:30 pm – 3:00 pm).

 


Pub Crawl for TURPAC

Please join us for our annual TURPAC* Pub Crawl on Thursday, June 21. Pick up a passport at registration and get it stamped by staff at all three locations to be entered into a drawing for FREE registration to the 2019 Summer Conference at Madden's Resort in Brainerd!  We’ll visit two bars in downtown Walker - both within easy walking distance of the resort. Then we’ll come back to Chase on the Lake to cap off the evening with a beverage, snacks & dancing! 

Minimum TURPAC fee: $30/adult (but if you are so inclined to give more, we won’t turn you down!) Cost of beverages on your own. 

*TURPAC donation must be made via personal credit card or check - no corporate/business checks or credit cards, please.

MTGA’s Allied Committee announces its $79 for 79 Years Campaign - in celebration of MTGA’s 79th year in existence and part of the committee’s ongoing initiative to support outreach and education.
